SEVERAL passengers onboard a Route 50 minibus were rushed to the Diamond Hospital on Saturday evening after the vehicle toppled at Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara.

Reports are that the driver of the BWW7196 minibus was heading to Georgetown when he lost control of the vehicle around 19:15hrs and slammed into a Toyota Tacoma.

Such was the impact that the minibus turned turtle near Grant Sand Road at Soesdyke, causing six of its occupants to have to be rushed to the Diamond Hospital.

Thankfully, their injuries were reportedly not life threatening.

Since the implementation of COVID-19 emergency measures in Guyana, a number of road accidents have occurred during the 6pm to 6am curfew.
