Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 pt Ghee ( margarine can be used if not for religious functions)
1 cup sugar
1 can evaporated milk
2 sticks cinnamon
8 cloves
cherries (optional)
raisins (optional)
Method
1. add 1 cup water and boil for about 5 mins .with cinnamon, sugar and cloves to make a syrup
you can add the sugar alone to the water to make the syrup and add the cinnamon and cloves
to the flour when parching, which is sometimes done ( original way) .
2. Set stove to medium,
3. add ghee or margarine and let melt.
4. add and stir in all the flour a bit at a time, keep stirring to avoid burning
5. by turning slowly, parch the flour to a golden brown color ( about 8-10 mins )
it will get dry and loose and then it will become moist and sticky again.
6. after it get a bit darker cplor and sticky ( parched ) add the syrup and keep stirring.
7. Add the evaporated milk and cherries and raisins and mix in.
