Local company helps CDC, minibus operators stock up on sanitiser

THE Civil Defence Commission (CDC) on Monday received a large quantity of locally-produced sanitiser from Power Producers and Distributors Incorporated (PPDI).

The donation was presented by acting PPDI Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Gary Hall to CDC Director- General, Lieutenant Colonel Kester Craig at the Kingston Power Plant in Georgetown.

A release from the Ministry of the Presidency stated that the contribution is a welcome and timely one, and will be used at the CDC’s headquarters, as well as its storage facilities, and will also be shared with convalescent and elderly homes across Georgetown.

The Guyana Minibus Union also received a similar donation, which was accepted on its behalf by Narine Beepat, who said that the sanitizer will be used to aid in the safety of the travelling public on routes in Georgetown, East Coast, East Bank and West Bank Demerara, Berbice and Bartica.

Hall said that the donation is not only part of the PPDI’s corporate social responsibility but its desire to assist in any way it can during this period.
