Calibrate clinical thermometers

– GNBS officers urge healthcare providers

THE Guyana National Bureau of Standards (GNBS) will be offering free calibration of clinical thermometers used in the health sector for all health are facilities (both private and public) with ranges from 35 degree Celsius to 40 degree Celsius.

This is according to GNBS Head of Marketing and Communications, Syeid Ibrahim.
He said it is important that “we get accurate results from testing the temperature of patients, especially during the COVID-19 outbreak in Guyana. As such we are urging all healthcare facilities to get their clinical thermometers calibrated.”

Ibrahim said healthcare facilities can sign up for this free service by emailing the Industrial Metrology and Testing Services Department at labservices@gnbsgy.org or WhatsApp (592) 692-GNBS (4627)

“Calibration ensures accuracy. Be cautious, practice social distancing, stay safe and follow guidelines from the Ministry of Health,” he said.
