TRAVIS DOVER, a 30-year-old of Bartica, who works as a miner at Arangai, was, on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, placed on $55,000 bail by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, having been charged with felonious wounding.
The charge alleged that, on Monday, March 9, 2020, at 4th Avenue Bartica, Essequibo River, Dover unlawfully and maliciously wounded Troy Gilbert, in an attempt to maim, disfigure, disable or cause grievous bodily harm to him.
When Dover was read the charge, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor had no objections to Dover being granted bail.
Chief Magistrate McLennan proceeded to grant Dover $55,000 bail under the condition that he reports to the officer in charge at the Bartica Police Station every other Friday at 09:00 hours until completion of the trial.
The matter was adjourned until Wednesday, April 15, 2020.
