AN autopsy on the remains of 35-year-old Suresh Arjune called “Vishal” of Lot 3 Adventure Public Road, Region Two, revealed that he died as a result of multiple injuries received from the accident in which he was involved on Mash Day.
The autopsy was conducted on Friday by Government Pathologist Dr Nehaul Singh at the Suddie Mortuary. According to commander of ‘G’ Division, Crystal Robinson, the file was sent to the DPP for advice, but noted that the driver was charged for driving under the influence.
According to information reaching the Guyana Chronicle, the accident occurred around 20:50hrs on Mash Day on the Adventure Public Road. It involved motor car bearing registration PMM 2260 and motorcycle CJ 4350. Information revealed that the car was driven by a 27-year-old who was highly intoxicated at the time.
The car was proceeding south along the eastern carriageway of the road when it was alleged by the driver that while he was negotiating a left bend, the motorcyclist was proceeding in the opposite direction at a fast rate of speed without lights and collided with the left side front portion of his vehicle.
As a result of the impact, the cyclist fell onto the road surface and sustained severe injuries to his head and other parts of the body. He was then picked up an unconscious state and died soon after.
Arjune was an employee attached to Banks DIH Limited and was a father of one. The police are investigating the accident.
