THE communities of Zorg and Johanna Cecila, Essequibo Coast, Region Two, were plunged into deep mourning, on Wednesday evening, when the tragic news spread that a villager died after falling off a bench at Zorg. Dead is Arvin Toolsie Mayhilall, 35, of Johanna Cecilia.

According to his mother, Jaiwantie Mayhilall, she received the tragic news around 18:00 hours. The mother related that she was told that her son fell down from a bench in a friend’s yard. A woman, who lives in the yard where Arvin died, claimed she was asleep when the incident occurred.

“When I got the call, I immediately went to the location and I saw my son lying flat, no one renders assistance. They just left he like that, he was dead when I reach. It appeared that he bruk he neck,” the saddened mother said.

Mayhilall was never married and was the only son of Jaiwantie. The mother related that she usually takes care of him since his father passed away years ago. When this newspaper visited the scene, police were already there gathering information. The deceased was described as a “very loving son” but was in the habit of consuming alcohol.

The body is at the Suddie Mortuary awaiting post-mortem.
