CHIEF Magistrate Ann McLennan, on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, granted $270,000 bail to a 49-year-old man accused of raping a child.

Orlando Fraser, of 12 Pike Street, Kitty, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and was not required to plead to the charge, when it was read to him.

Particulars of the charge stated that, on June 10, 2019, at Pike Street Kitty, he raped a twelve-year-old child.

According to information, on the day in question, Fraser picked up the child from school and took her to his residence and raped her. The child reported the incident to her teacher and the teacher immediately called in the Child Protection Agency.

Fraser was contacted, arrested and later charged.

Magistrate McLennan granted Fraser $270,000 bail and adjourned the matter until February 3, 2020, for disclosure of statements.
