Youth guilty of robbery to be sentenced January 13

MAGISTRATE Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus, on Monday, December 30, 2019, remanded a 20-year-old man to prison on a robbery charge.

Stephon Apple of Norton Street, Wortmanville, Georgetown, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and admitted to the charge, when it was read to him.

Particulars of the charge stated that, on December 14, 2019, at Norton Street, Wortmanville, Georgetown, he stole three gold rings valued at $100,000, one gold band valued at $50,000 and $54,000, cash, property of Chetwyn Eastman.

‘I didn’t really focus. I took some money to do a course,” Apple said.

Police Prosecutor Quinn Harris told the court that, on the day in question, at around 10:30 hours, Eastman placed the articles, mentioned in the charge, in a haversack and placed same on his dining table and went out.
