Santa Mission children enjoy Christmas party at Duke Lodge

RORAIMA Duke Lodge, Kingston, Georgetown was transformed into a play-park on Sunday when over 100 children from Santa Mission landed at the facility to take part in their annual Christmas party hosted by Roraima Airways.

The event, held at that location for the first time, brought together the children with their parents for a day of fun and a chance to meet Santa Claus.

One parent, Merley Camlo, a mother of five, said the event is beautiful as it brings families together in feast and merriment.

“The company is doing a good job in Santa Mission generally,” she said, noting, “I am overjoyed and excited because whenever my children are happy, I am happy, so that is why I am happy. We can enjoy Christmas together.”

At 30, Merley said she enjoys spending quality time at the party with her children ages two, four, seven, eight and 12.

When this publication visited Duke Lodge, the children were joyful and happy while smiling, eating, playing and having a merry time in the swimming pool, bouncy castle, trampoline and musical chairs.

Assistant General Manager at Roraima Airways, Sonia Khan, told Guyana Chronicle that the company has been hosting the party for children of Santa Mission for over 20 years at Arrow Point.

However, they decided to hold it at the Roraima Duke Lodge in Kingston this year so that the children can enjoy themselves in a new atmosphere.

The Christmas party also saw the children receiving a snack, a lunch, a party bag filled with goodies and a special gift from Santa.

She explained that the event is held in keeping with the mission of the company which is to ensure that the children are happy.

“Because it is the time for happiness, so the drive is once they are happy, we at Roraima Airways are happy,” Khan said.
