The General Manager of NIS, Holly Greaves, said “Christmas is a time of love and giving, it’s always a privilege of NIS to celebrate this tradition with you… the privilege is ours and the NIS to continue this tradition.”

Meantime, Public Relations Officer, Dianne Lewis- Baxter, reflected that over the 25 years of hosting the event, the intention was always to put smiles on the faces of the residents, noting that, “we have chosen to come to this institution to give back to some of the persons who have contributed to the development of Guyana.”

The staff of the Palms expressed gratitude to the NIS for the annual gesture, which many of the residents look forward to, especially at this time of the year.

Senior citizens at the Palms clapped, danced and sang along to Christmas carols, with the NIS Bible Choir and others in attendance. They were also treated to gifts and other tokens of appreciation, as the NIS staff extended best wishes for the holidays and the new year. (DPI)
