–Local comedians voyage to T&T for ‘Square Off’ Comedy Show
THE ‘Square Off’ Comedy Show with its tantalizing tagline “Chicken Curry versus Curry Chicken” is billed for Saturday, November 23 in Trinidad and is to feature some of Guyana’s top entertainers in a faceoff with some of Trinidad’s best comedians.
It’s not quite a competition, but the faceoff will definitely be on at the Centrum Auditorium, Centre Point Mall, Chaguanas, from 7 to 12 pm.
Some of the biggest names in local comedy and entertainment are slated to perform including Michael ‘Credit’ Ignatius, Lyndon ‘Jumbie’ Jones, Chris Gopaul, Clemencio Goddette, and Mark ‘Chiney Man’ Kazim.
“We’re gonna tear the place up. Is skin teeth time, is laughter…laughter is the best medicine. So come out and support and let’s come together. It’s all about love and laughter. It’s going to be entertaining, hilarious. I can’t wait to touch the stage,” Ignatius said in a promotional video.
The Trinidadian artistes who will be performing will be invited to perform in Guyana on December 28 and 29 at the popular ‘Uncensored Show.’
Meanwhile, Ignatius’ aim is to one day become a successful producer in Guyana, and he is quite confident that he will make it. His participation in school concerts, along with his sense of humour and natural knack for making people laugh, has led him to become one of Guyana’s top entertainers/actors.
The country is frequently treated to his performances in the popular Link Show, ‘Nothing to Laugh About’, among several other hot comedy jams.
Ever since Michael, 30, ventured into acting, apart from the Link Show, he has performed in popular shows like ‘Love, Sex and the Tax Man’, ‘Smile Orange’, ‘No tricks no business’, ‘Awe Society’, ‘Two’s a crowd’, ‘Dosti’ and ‘Bhagban.’ He has also been featured in television advertisements with Digicel and Ashmins among other local companies.
