Boat builder died from multiple injuries, autopsy finds

AN autopsy conducted on 55-year-old, Bridnand Rup, called “Briggy” of Dredge Creek, Upper Pomeroon, Region Two, has revealed he died as a result of multiple injuries sustained in an accident on Wednesday. The autopsy was conducted on Thursday by Government Pathologist, Dr. Nehaul Singh, at the Suddie Mortuary.

The driver was released on station bail after serving his 72 hours in police custody. The 55-year-old boat builder tragically lost his life on September 24, 2019, on the Somerset and Berks Public Road. He was returning from Suddie Public Hospital where he went to visit his newborn grandson.

Police has said that minibus BPP 2790 was proceeding east along the southern carriageway when the driver of motorcycle CJ 3626 was proceeding in the opposite direction. The motorist allegedly lost control and collided with the minibus. He was then taken to the Charity Oscar Joseph where he was pronounced dead on arrival. A breathalyser test was conducted on the minibus driver but there was no trace of alcohol in his system. The deceased was a father of three children.
