‘Disorderly man’ to do community service

MAGISTRATE Faith McGusty on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, ordered a man to complete 14 days of community service for behaving disorderly and damaging a door.
Calvin Francis of Princess Street, Lodge, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and pleaded guilty to two charges.

Particulars of the first charge stated that, on September 18, 2019, at East la Penitence police station, he damaged one door valued at $22, 995, the property of Guyana Police Force.

The last charge stated that, on the same day, and at the same place, he behaved in a disorderly manner.

Grant explained that he was wrongfully arrested and he got angry and kicked the door and it got damaged.

Magistrate McGusty, after hearing Grant’s explanation, ordered him to complete 14 days of community service at East la Penitence police station.
