ONE hundred ten students and 12 teachers of South Ruimveldt Secondary School on Monday benefitted from a traffic awareness lecture which focused on road safety practices.
These practices focused on road safety rules, safety rules for pedal cyclists, pedestrian crossings and the curb drill.

The lecture was conducted by Sergeant, Kenyatta Bishop of Traffic Headquarters, who is attached to the education section.

Additionally, Sergeant Bishop, who is eager about piloting youths in the right direction, spoke to the students about issues such as weapons in schools, saying no to drugs in all forms, peer pressure and healthy hygiene practices.

He also gave a lesson on discipline, consequences of good and bad decision- making, having good role model characters, consequences of loitering on the roadways during and after school hours and suicide.

The teachers commended Sergeant Bishop for his great initiative.
