Trial of alleged drug trafficker to continue on September 2

COME September 2, 2019, Police Prosecutor, Inspector Neville Jeffers, is expected to make his closing submission in a drug trafficking case against a 39-year-old labourer.

Denish Nunes, of D’Urban Street, Lodge, was busted with 3.65 kilogrammes of cannabis on June 7, 2019, at this home, by ranks of the police narcotics branch
He is currently on remand and is on trial before the Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court for drug- trafficking.

Nunes had already led his defence and called witnesses on his behalf.
According to reports, on the day in question, a party of police officers went to Nunes’ Durban Street, Lodge apartment and conducted a search. The cannabis was found in a barrel.
