THE Prison authorities are currently investigating the assault committed on remanded prison Marlon Bradley known as “Maley”, by other inmates at the Lusignan Prison
Bradley, 36, on August 9, 2019, was charged and remanded to prison by Senior Magistrate Leron Daly, at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court for the possession of a gun and ammunition.
He was then taken to the Lusignan Prison Holding 3, where he was beaten and had his hair cut by inmates, while it was being videoed. The video was then circulated on social media by the inmates.
In the video, Bradley is on the prison floor while two inmates forcefully cut his hair with scissors. The men, acted on instruction received from another inmate, who is heard in the video saying “Cut off his hair…ayo is bad boy.”
However, the same man is also heard telling the other prisoners “Don’t chop he” (Bradley) as the men tried to harm him.
Director of Prison (ag) Gladwin Samuels said that Bradley was extracted from the Holding 3 and relocated to the Lusignan Prison.
Bradley was unable to identify his attackers because their faces were covered. However, he was able to identify one person by voice recognition.
On August 4, 2019, Bradley, who is a suspect in the murder of Reginald ‘Reggie’ Atherly, popularly known as “Diesel Boss”, was shot in his leg at Cornhill
On August 9, 2019, Bradley was arraigned before Magistrate Daly and was remanded to prison. The investigation into Atherly’s murder is still ongoing.
