MAGISTRATE Faith McGusty, on Wednesday July 03, 2019, granted $75,000 bail to a 21-year-old man who was accused of robbing a woman.
Simeon Truman appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and denied the charge when it was read to him.
Particulars of the charge stated that on June 21, 2019, at DeAbreu Street, Kitty, Truman, while being in the company of others, robbed Karen Adams of her hand bag, cell phone with sim card along with an umbrella. The items valued $77,000.
Truman’s attorney, Tiffany Jeffrey, during an application for bail, told the court that her client was wrongfully arrested since he had bought a cell phone from someone and did not know it was stolen. Magistrate McGusty released Truman on $75,000 bail and adjourned the matter until July 24, 2019.
