FIVE Essequibians narrowly escaped death on Sunday after the driver of the car in which they were travelling lost control of the vehicle and it ended up in a drainage trench at Affiance, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam). The accident reportedly occurred around 13:30hrs Sunday afternoon.
According to information reaching the Guyana Chronicle, the five occupants were in the car and they were heading in a northern direction.
After hearing a loud impact, residents immediately rushed to the scene and assisted the occupants of the car. According to an eyewitness, the driver, along with four other young people, escaped unhurt. Efforts are currently being made to have the vehicle removed. The police are investigating the accident.
