I played no part in having this case dropped

Dear Editor

I WISH to set straight possible misconceptions in various sections of the media regarding the legal matter between myself and Ms Allana Lewis, a former business associate at Pieces&Things,’ 16 North Road, Lacytown, Georgetown.

Ms Lewis claimed that on March 16, 2018, I stole items from her valued at $349,000.
This matter was subsequently taken to court, at which I appeared on every date that I was required to be present; this was after being summoned and failing to initially appear on May 7, 2019,
Ms Lewis appeared in court on June 5, 2019 and declared that she no longer wishes to pursue the matter; a declaration which, under oath, she swore that she had in no way been threatened to do.

I wish to clarify that, contrary to erroneous reports circulating in the media, no prior settlement was made between myself and Ms Lewis on the matter, and no communication was exchanged between us leading up to her decision to no longer pursue the said matter.

I am unaware of what would drive her to make this decision, but can only guess that Ms Lewis has come to realise that her false claims, bold-faced attempts at libel and malicious persecution would not be able to stand the test of trial going forward.

Once again, I wish to thank everyone who continue to support me, and hope that this clarifies any misconceptions regarding my participation in the case being dropped.

Regards,
Ashaka King
