THE Police Force Swimming Team participated in the Dolphin Speed Swim Meet at the National Aquatic Centre, Liliendaal ECD. There were competitors from six other clubs.

The Police contingent, headed by swimming coach Rural Constable Christopher McAdam, performed outstandingly.

Sergeant Linden Barkoye picked up first in the 50m breaststroke and second in the 50m freestyle while Woman Corporal Eva Harry copped second in the 50m breaststroke, third in the 50m freestyle and second in the 50m butterfly.

Woman Lance Corporal Bernard picked up second in the 50m backstroke and 50m freestyle while Constable Akeem Alfred finished third in the 50m freestyle and second in the 50m backstroke.

Constable Trumaine Cole snapped up three first-place finishes in the 50m freestyle, 50m butterfly and 50m backstroke while Special Constable Joel Murray placed second in the 50m butterfly and third in the 50m backstroke.

Rural Corporal Nikita Fiedtkou claimed four first-place finishes in the 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke, 50m freestyle and 50m butterfly.

The members of the team wish to thank the Force Administration for putting the necessary system in place for the competition and look forward to participate in other invitational events of such nature in the future.
