Main City garbage collectors and Council reach agreement

THE Georgetown City Council met with the two major city garbage collectors, Puran Brothers and Cevon Waste Management, on Thursday and came to an agreement for both of those contracting companies to continue garbage collection in the City.

The two Companies ‘pulled’ their services pending payments from the Council totaling some $300M for works done in the City back in 2017.

According to a release from the Council, the two sides met on Thursday May 2, 2019 and agreed that the rates for payment were not sustainable. A compromise was then reached.
It, therefore, means the companies will re-commence collection of garbage in the City from May 6, 2019.
