GUYANA’s downward spiral continues in the sport of Rugby, more so, in the 15s format, since, following Saturday’s 5-19 loss to Guadeloupe at the National Park, the ‘Green Machine’ is searching for a win since 2017.

Guadeloupe capitalised on Guyana’s silly mistakes to win their first-ever Rugby America’s North (RAN) title (South Zone), with Guyana’s head coach, Kenneth Grant-Stuart, telling reporters that now, it’s time to head back to the drawing board.

“I think our decision making was very poor. Guadeloupe didn’t play much but they deserved to win based to our poor decisions. It wasn’t fitness (on our part) and we had many opportunities to score. We got to regroup and come again,” Grant-Stuart said.

With the win, Guadeloupe will now play RAN’s North Zone Champion, Bermuda in May for the over-all title.

All eyes will now be on the Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) and how well the Peter Green-led organisation will proceed in reaffirming Guyana’s dominance in RAN.
