BCB trims squad to 14 for U19 Inter-County competition

THE Berbice Cricket Board, yesterday, released the names of their 14-member squad, who will look to defend their U19 Inter-County titles (three day and one-day) when action bowls off this week in the capital city.

The defending champions have a strong unit, with half of the squad returning from last year.
These include Guyana U19 cricketers, Kevlon Anderson, who served as vice-captain last year; Kevin Umrao, Alex Algoo and Junior Sinclair.

One of the top junior batsmen, Anderson, and solid left-arm spinner, Umrao, were also called up for the WI U19 training camp late last year.

The other returning players are Leon Swammy, Christopher Harry and Garfield Benjamin.
The full team reads: Alex Algoo, Junior Sinclair, Kevlon Anderson, Leon Swammy, Gevon Shultz, Garfield Benjamin, Kevin Umroa, Chanderpaul Govindhan, Shamar Angel, Dorasammy Mahadeo, Nigel Deodat, Seon Glasgow, Jetindra Outar and Christopher Harry.

The standbys are Carl Gilgeous, Melvin Singh, Nicholas Lawson, Fawaz Gafoor, Aaron Beharry
and Deonauth Persaud.
