NOTHING to Laugh About 12 has officially been set for May 31 to June 3 at the National Cultural Centre, and the going promise is that “part 12 is going to definitely top the others”, and will include a dance competition titled, “96.1 Voice FM Dance Splash”, a new feature to the show.
Producer of the show, Maria Benschop confirmed that the show is so on, that patrons can expect their usual dose of the best in jokes. Nothing and no one will be spared, she promised.
“We’re now working on scripts, and as usual, we’re touching on all the events that happened,” Maria said. “We’re making fun of everything and everyone, across-the-board, as always. It’s going to be fun; it’s going to be about everything that’s trending. Once it’s trending, we got it. Once you mek yuhself a fool, we got yuh,” Maria promised.
Patrons can expect to see the return of many, if not all, of their favourite characters who always seem to have just the right acting and antics to keep their fans wanting for more and coming back every year.

This includes reoocuring characters such as “Chiney Man”, played by Mark Kazim, “Credit” and “Radica” played by Michael Ignatius and Leza Singh, respectively, as well as other actors/comedians such as Mark Luke-Edwards, fellow producer, Lyndon “Jumbie” Jones, Chris Gopaul, and of course, it’s not Nothing to Laugh About without an appearance by Kirwyn Mars (Sir Mars).
Notwithstanding the organisers always promising that every year will be the best year, fans have not yet gotten tired of the tagline, because the producers always seem to deliver.
The show remains a highly-anticipated, often sold-out and held-over event on the Guyanese entertainment calendar.
For the dance competition this year, Benschop shared that the event will involve eight finalists chosen following auditions with the initial applicants, with the winner being announced on the final night of the show.
Persons interested in being a part of the competition can call the 96.1 FM office on 231-7888 or 226-9986.
