AN Indonesian, who was a chainsaw operator, died on Friday at West Kurubaru Backdam in the Demerara River after being injured by a falling tree.
Dead is Daniel Sambara, 45, of Mabura Hill.

Reports indicate that the chainsaw operator was struck to his head by a root from another tree that was uprooted as a result of one he had chopped down.

He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Linden Hospital Complex and his body was later escorted to the Lyken Funeral Parlour.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
