SHAMAR Harvey, on April 5, 2019, was teary-eyed as he was remanded by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, for a murder he allegedly committed in Albouystown.

He was not allowed to plead to indictable charge, which read that the 21-year-old defendant, who resides at Lot 135 King Edward Street, Albouystown, on March 31, 2019, murdered Christopher Mansfield also known as “Gully Bop”, at Cooper Street Albouystown. The deceased is an 18-year-old who resides at 66 Barr Street, Albouystown.

According to police reports, the victim and the accused had a misunderstanding in the area on the day in question. As a result, Harvey and another male pursued the victim and shot him while he was on his way to play football. This resulted in severe injuries which led to his demise.

Harvey dropped his pants in court and was ordered to pull it back up as he had the court in an uproar. He told the court that he did not commit the act and he was wrongfully accused.
Investigations were further carried out which led to the accused being arrested. However, police are still trying to locate the other suspect in the matter. The defendant will appear in court again on May 10, 2019.
