THE Anna Regina Community Centre Ground will come alive again on March 31 as the finals for the 4th edition of the “Digicel Triple Treat” will conclude in Region Two.
The “Digicel Triple Treat” was recently launched with the unveiling of the names of several cricket teams that will be part of the event this year. The “Triple Treat” includes a 10/10 softball cricket and duck curry competition, followed by a “Bacchanal” or after-party.
The preliminary round of the competition has commenced already, but the finals is set of March 31 in Region Two. The cricket will commence at 14:00hours followed by a grand stage show around 20:00hours.
Reigning Banks Chutney Monarch, Steven Ramphal will make his appearance again in the Cinderell County, and is expected to perform the songs he entered for both the soca and chutney competitions.
He will share the stage with Trinidad’s sassy Sally Sagram. The winners of the cricket competition will walk away with $350,000, while second place winner will uplift $200,000 and third place will receive $100,000.
The fourth-place winners will collect $75,000. The man-of the match, the batsman with the highest run rate and the bowler with the most wickets will collect $30,000 each.
Those entering the Duck Curry competition will be allowed to marinate the meat at home. The stoves will be provided at the ground, as will the mixture of the spices.
The winners of the Duck Curry Competition will take home $200,000, $150,000 $100,000, and $75,000 respectively, should they place second, third or fourth. The team with the best presentation will take home $40,000.
