TWO men yesterday (Friday March 1, 2019) appeared before Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrates’ court for stealing a number of items.
Particulars of the matter read that on February 23, 2019, in the vicinity of the Stabroek Market, Harry Mowanie and Leslie Ferdinand stole 33 brassieres, 10 ladies under-wear and 30 pairs of slippers. These items are worth a total of $391,000, and belonged to Mondale Rogers.
According to reports, the two accused had previously appeared in court for matters relating to theft. They were arrested earlier this year for stealing a vendor’s item left in a box.
The men pleaded guilty to the charge and were sentenced to 18 months in prison.
