Dead: Alex Daniels

A DRUNKEN argument between two friends caused the death of a young man on Wednesday night at Frenchman Backdam, Mabura, Region 10.

Dead is Alex Daniels, 29, a miner of Swan Village, Soesdyke-Linden Highway. Police arrested the perpetrator who was identified as Imran Daniels, 24, a miner of Hotoquin Village, North West District.

Reports indicate that on Wednesday evening, the two miners were imbibing in the company of their employer at Frenchman Landing. When they were finished, they decided to walk back to their camp.

However, while they were returning to their camp, the suspect threw away Alex Daniels’ slippers which resulted in an argument.

Inquiries revealed that their employer, in a bid to bring peace to the situation, told them to desist arguing over such a minor thing, but the argument continued to their camp.
At the camp, the suspect armed himself with a knife and dealt Daniels two stabs, one to the chest and another above his right hip.

He was promptly arrested by his fellow employees at the camp and handed over to the police at the Mabura Police Station. Police also retrieved the murder weapon and the body was removed pending an autopsy as investigations continue.
