Gov’t. fixing damaged ramp at Leguan Stelling

THE Public Infrastructure Ministry said it is taking appropriate steps to fix the ramp at the Leguan Stelling which has become inaccessible.

In a statement on Tuesday, the ministry said it was brought to its attention that piles from the Leguan Stelling low ramp broke on Monday, causing the ramp to be inaccessible to passengers.

A team of Transport and Habour Department engineers have been dispatched to the location and are assessing the damage incurred.
“This matter is being treated with extreme urgency as materials are currently being sourced and repairs are expected to be completed within seven (7) days,” the minister said.

Leguan residents and passengers alike are advised to use the high ramp as the operations of the stelling will be maintained. However, passengers are encouraged to use the stelling with caution as the engineers facilitate repairs to the broken piles on the low ramp. The Public Infrastructure Ministry said it regrets any inconvenience caused.
