…Teenager John Walcott was a pillion rider
Senior police sources have confirmed that 19 -year -old John Walcott, who was crushed by a truck following a collision at Sisters Village, West Bank Demerara on Wednesday, was not the rider of a motorcycle in the accident in which the teen ended up under the wheel of the moving fuel tanker.

The rider of the motorcycle has been identified as police constable Orin Parris.
Reports are that Parris who resides on the West Demerara is stationed in the police ‘C’ Division.
He was also detailed to be at work at the Lusignan Prisons on the East Coast Demerara at the time that he crashed a motorcycle on the West Bank of Demerara.

Both men were without safety helmets at the time of the crash.

The truck driver allegedly claimed that after the motorcycle lost control and the pillion rider ended up under the wheel of the truck, the rider got up and ran away.

That account was also mentioned by a number of other persons at the scene on Wednesday.

The dead 19 -year -old leaves to mourn his relatives including his six-week old daughter and her mother.
