A MAN was shot dead in an apparent hit at McDoom, East Bank Demerara Tuesday night.
Dead is Kelvin Walters, 48, of Forshaw Street Queenstown. The Guyana Chronicle was informed that the man and his family, inclusive of his reputed wife Roxanne Henry and a five-year-old, were in the vehicle.

As Walters was traveling along the East Bank Demerara heading south, two men on a motorcycle rode up alongside him. There was some form of exchange and the men then rode up in front of the car and blocked its path.

Walters, according to information, drove his vehicle into the motorcycle but the two men took evasive measures. The car rolled over the motorcycle but the pillion rider got up and opened fire on Walters. He was shot to the mouth according eyewitnesses.

As a result, he lost control of the vehicle which slammed into the median. Henry also suffered injuries. Police sources have said that the men then got up and fled on foot into a nearby village, leaving behind a 9MM pistol and 14 matching live rounds of ammunition.

They did not take anything from their victims. Up to press time on Tuesday night, the police were still searching for the killers. Thus far the police are unable to say if the incident was actually a road rage or a hit. Investigations are ongoing.
