NINETEEN-YEAR-OLD national footballer Jobe Caesar was on Wednesday remanded to prison on two charges: robbing his ex-girlfriend and damaging her $3.5M motor car.
Particulars of the first charge allege that Caesar, on November 25, 2018, at Lot 178 Albert and Charlotte streets, while armed with a gun, robbed Jennifer Validen of a cellphone valued at $30,000.

The second charge alleged that on the same day, he damaged Validen’s motor car.
Caesar pleaded not guilty to both charges when they were read to him by Principal Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrates Court.

Police Prosecutor Ceon Blackman objected to Caesar being granted his pre-trial liberty, on the grounds that a gun was used and also because the accused was before another court for assaulting Validen.

Magistrate McGusty ruled in favour of the prosecution and remanded Caesar to prison until January 30, 2019.

The Guyana Chronicle had earlier reported that Caesar crashed his ex-girlfriend’s motor car and riddled it with bullets, because she refused to take him back.
According to reports, Jobe Caesar and the victim had shared a relationship, which was said to be abusive. It is alleged that, prior to the incident, the woman had made several attempts to end the relationship but Caesar had threatened her. Consequently,complaints were filed with the police.

The victim explained that, on the night of the incident, she and Caesar had an argument after she had begged him to leave her alone and to desist from coming to her house. “I keep telling him I don’t want him and he kept knocking me in front of my children,” the woman told the Guyana Chronicle.

She explained that Caesar stormed her Albert and Charlotte streets home, picked up her car keys then ran out of the house.

He returned around 03:30hrs on Sunday, November 25, 2018 and she (the victim) refused to let him into the home after he threatened to harm her.

Caesar reportedly became annoyed, went back into the car and drove it into a nearby post. He then came out, allegedly pulled out a firearm and discharged several rounds at the vehicle before making good his escape.

The victim explained that during the incident, she became fearful and locked her children in the bedroom. Also, during the incident, Caesar told her that “he can’t live without her and if he can’t get her, then the burial ground will.”
