SENIOR Magistrate Leron Daly, at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, on Friday remanded a 23-year-old labourer to prison for three armed robbery charges.
Sean Goodluck denied the three charges when they were read to him while his attorney, Clyde Forde, made an application for reasonable bail.
The first charge alleged that on January 9, 2019, at New Market Street, East Ruimveldt, Goodluck, in the company of others and armed with a gun, robbed Tash Moe of a cellphone valued GYD$70,000 along with GYD$10,000 cash and GYD$70,000 cash, property of Massy Distribution.
The second charge stated that on January 5, 2019, at Lot 39 Broad Street, Georgetown, Goodluck, while in the company of others and armed with guns, robbed Shazeer Blackett of a GYD$600,000 gold chain.
The third charge alleged that Goodluck, on January 4, 2019, at Trench Road, Mandela Avenue, robbed Devon Florimonte of a gold chain valued GYD$75,000.
Police Prosecutor Sanj Singh objected to Goodluck being granted pre-trial liberty on the grounds that the accused was wanted by the police for similar crimes.
Magistrate Daly ruled in the prosecution’s favour and remanded Goodluck to prison until March 1, 2019.
