FORMER fraud accused Allan Robert Gates who goes by many aliases and was released from prison in 2014 is now again wanted by the police in connection with an alleged fraud committed on Waheeda Ramcharran on February 2, 2018.

Police on Old Year’s Day released the wanted bulletin stating that one of his aliases is Clive De Nobrega. His last known addresses were lot 440 Pineapple Street, East Ruimveldt, Lot 8, St Ann Street, New Amsterdam and Sand hill Berbice River.

In 2008 Alan Robert Gates was placed on $425,000 bail when he appeared before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court after he allegedly obtained $4.1 million by pretending to be the director of a company.

Gates, of East Ruimveldt pleaded not guilty to five charges of obtaining money by false pretense. It is alleged that on the following dates at New Amsterdam, Berbice the accused obtained the amounts of monies stated below from Wajeden Bacchus by purporting to be the director of an import and export business: May 7, 2006 – $300,000; May 11 and 13, and October 5 of last year – $1M, $1M and $1.2M, respectively; and June 5 of this year – $600,000
