A HAIRDRESSER will be spending the new year behind bars after she was on Monday remanded to prison by Senior Magistrate Leron Daly for trafficking cannabis.
Odessa Dublin pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that on December 29, 2018 at Lot 123 Regent Street, Georgetown she had 520 grams of cannabis in her possession for the purpose of trafficking.
According to the facts presented in court by Police Prosecutor Sanj Singh, on the day in question at about 14:30hrs, police ranks went to Dublin’s Lot 123 Regent Street, Georgetown home and conducted a search in her presence. In her bedroom a black plastic bag containing leaves, seeds and stems were found.
The police prosecutor opposed to the mother of five being released on bail, citing the seriousness of the offence. Magistrate Daly ruled in favour of the prosecution and remanded Dublin to prison until January 21, 2019.
