Dear Editor
AND we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are The Called, according to his purpose.
On Sunday the 16th day of December, while doing devotion, I decided to read the story of how Judas betrayed Jesus and strange enough, what happened on Friday, December 21 in Parliament has some similarities to that story. Luke 22:15 and he said onto them, with desire I have to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.
It is said before the vote in parliament the ministers had a talk in a room then they ate a meal together. In that same gathering, when Jesus and 12 apostles were in the upper room. Luke 22:34 and he said. I tell thee, Peter the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt Thrice deny that thou knowest me. Three times Peter denied Jesus. Mr.
Persaud was the Third member of the Government who voted three times; the clerk called his name to vote two times he said ‘yes’ and the third time he said ‘yes, yes, yes.’ Judas betrayed Jesus for 30 pieces of silver, Matthew 27:3.
Mr. Charrandas Persaud said he had voted according to his conscience and that he was not paid to vote the way he did. A man’s word is supposed to be his bond, so if he said he was not paid, I have to believe him. Matthew 27:5: “And he cast down the pieces of silver in the Temple and departed and went and hanged himself.” While speaking to reporters on the balcony of parliament, Mr Persaud said, “My life may go; but you know what? I would die a happy person.” I rebuke those words and declare that he shall not die, but live and proclaim that word of the Lord. You know God moves in mysterious ways. Right now a good segment of the population has Mr. Persaud as a hero, they love him for what he did and that is alright.
First-oil it is said will start at the end of 2019 to beginning of 2020; and if this thing did not happen as it did, it means we would have an election just after oil started to flow and we know what goes on at election time. You do not want a fight in a family just after you have a newborn child. Another good segment of the population has Mr. Persaud as a Judas, they hate him for what he did and that’s alright, we are in a democracy. After the election in May or June 2019, because I believe three months is too short and should the current government retain power and have a full five-year term when first-oil comes to implement their programmes, then I believe Mr. Persaud could be the first politician in the history of Guyana to be loved by the whole nation for what he did. Wouldn’t that be something?
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are The Called according to his purpose. God bless the Co-operative Republic of Guyana.
