PRIME Minister, Moses Nagamootoo has urged citizens not to be fearful, as the government remains strong and intact.

“If we have to go back to new elections, we are going to go strengthen ourselves so the next time around they cannot touch us by manoeuvres, by compromises and by dividing our people on the basis of race,” he said.

The prime minister was at the time addressing the questions from citizens on the no-confidence motion brought by the opposition PPP/C on Friday last. He was part of a ministerial “meet and greet” at Stabroek Market Square on Christmas Eve. The prime minister added that for every challenge there is an opportunity, and this latest event is “an opportunity for the people of Guyana to come together, as you have never come together before.”

Minister of Public Health, Volda Lawrence, who was also part of the team, also urged Guyanese to get ready and be prepared by ensuring they are registered and ready to cast their votes. “Each and every one of us, we are in campaign mode, each one must teach one, talk to the other, reason with each other. Let our youths understand for the last three years we did not pick up dead bodies off the street. Comrades, we got to teach them we have to show them how to put the ‘X’ in the box. Ensure that they get their I.D cards,” Minister Lawrence said. (DPI)
