HUNDREDS of children’s faces in Region Two were lit up as several companies in the region decided to reach out to them this Christmas. The largest crowd was on Sunday, December 9 at the G&P Jaigobin and Son Supermarket located in Anna Regina. Children, as well as their parents, gathered to witness the lighting up of the tallest Christmas tree in the Region. The event is an annual one and every year he adds more height to the tree.
During the light up hundreds of children gathered to get a glimpse of Claus and his troupe out of Disney Land. The crowd was impressed with the performances of Barney, Dora, Elsa, Anna, Frozen’s Olaf, Spiderman and Santa as they took the stage. The cartoon characters danced with joy as Santa pushed the button to light up the Christmas tree.
On December 7, Alfro Alphonso and Sons had their Christmas tree light up on the fifth floor of the shopping centre in Charity and Santa distributed hundreds of toys and gifts to the Children in Charity and the Pomeroon area. The businessman distributed gifts on two days to the children.

The Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (GBTI ) Anna Regina Branch held their Children Christmas Party where hundreds of children were hosted. They received toys and gifts from Santa Claus and also had their faces painted. They were involved in games and interacted with the staff.
The Essequibo Coast Chamber of Commerce and Industry will also be hosting a Christmas party for 400 children this year.
