A MOTHER of seven was on Friday charged for attempted murder of her reputed husband after she appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
Kendra Grant 39, of West Ruimveldt Georgetown appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore and was not required to plead to the indictable charge.
The charge alleged that on November 12, 2018 at West Ruimveldt with intent to commit murder, Grant wounded Oasis Bailey.
Police Prosecutor Simone Payne objected to bail due to the seriousness of the offense and the penalty in which the offence attracts.
According to the facts that that were presented in court by the police prosecutor, on the day in question, the defendant and the victim had an argument pertaining to the victim bringing his ‘child mother’ at their home.
However, the two had a scuffle where the defendant went into the kitchen, picked up a knife and stabbed the victim to his chest. As a result, Bailey fell to the ground and was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where he was admitted as a patient and later discharged.
Bail was granted in the sum of $150,000. The matter was adjourned to December 21, 2018.
