A FIVE-MONTH-old baby was electrocuted at his Number 76, Housing Scheme, East Berbice-Corentyne home on Tuesday.
The infant was identified as Mason Cush, of Lot 207 Number 76, Housing Scheme, East Berbice- Corentyne. According to reports, the child came into contact with a live wire that was allegedly taped together. This publication was told that the mother of the child, Onessa Johnson, had the infant on a bed but briefly put him on the floor to make up the bed when he came into contact with a wire.
The baby was immediately rushed to the Skeldon Hospital at around midday on Tuesday, but was pronounced dead on arrival. This publication was told that the infant’s mother was crying uncontrollably as she brought the baby to seek medical attention and is still in a state of shock. When this publication visited the home on Wednesday afternoon, the family were still in a state of shock and were reluctant to speak with the media.
