THE Rose Hall Town (RHT) Metro dominated the opening clash of the Nand Persaud Berbice Female Cricket tournament, with a 124-run win over the Rose Hall Canje/Tucber Park combined.

The 29th Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) Tournament for 2018 bowled off on Monday with Sherica Campbelle hitting 60 runs for Metro. Support came from S. Gajnabi, who stroked 39 and Kimmone Thomas and Dian Prahalad who scored 16 each as the eventual winners raced to a commanding 170-5 from 25 overs.
West Indies medium pacer Tremayne Smartt led the combined team’s bowling attack with 3-16.

National cricketer Plaffina Millington then delivered a scintillating spell of bowling as she picked up 5-9 to restrict the Rose Hall Canje/Tucber Park combined team to 46 all out. Campbelle supported with 2-8.
The experienced Smartt led her team with the bat, as she struck 21, while A. Duggins supported with 12.
