– West Bank sides register huge wins
THERE big wins for the West Demerara teams in the ongoing GUYOIL Tradewind Tankers Schools Football league when matches continued on Sunday.
Played at the Ministry of Education ground, the matches got off to a flyer when Queenstown took on Uitvlught in the first game.
Anthony Benn opened the scoring for the West Demerara side in the 19th minute but Queenstown responded right away, through Carl Chisholm in the 20th.

The two teams battled for the lead once more and it was Teidus Edwards’ 47th minute goal that set Uitvlught on the path to victory. All eyes were on Queenstown to equalise once more but the next goal scored was in favour of Uitvlught– Ruben Dainty’s 55th minute strike.
Edwards would go on to complete his brace in the 63rd with Mickael Mckend (65th) making the scoreline 5-1 at the whistle.
Christianburg won via walk-over against St Roses High in what was supposed to be game two. However, action returned in game three when Vergenoegen trashed Charlestown Secondary.
Ronaldo Macey (4th and 42nd) lead the line in the 5-1 drubbing with Troy Skeete (39th), Esan Heymar (47th) and Brentnol Bobb (54th) also scoring.
Charlestown had Carlos Agard in the 44th minute registering their lone strike.
Annandale on the other hand picked up a 2-0 win over Lodge Secondary, thanks to Junor Verreia in the 22nd and Omari Glasglow in the 36th
Matches continue today with Dolphin playing Queens College and Bishops’ High playing Marian Academy from 15:30hrs.
