The Iwokrama International Centre (IIC) for Rainforest Conservation and Development hosted an open day at the Umana Yana on Wednesday. According to the centre’s Director of Resource Management and Training, Dr. Raquel Thomas the event was aimed at promoting the work IIC does. At the event visitors were taken on a virtual tour of the centre, introduced to the team managing the facility and informed about the various activities conducted by the centre such as ecotourism packages and tours and sustainable forest management.
