PULSATING cricket action is anticipated tomorrow between defending champions Better Hope and hosts Buxton ‘Carl Hooper’ Cricket Club in the final of the East Coast Cricket Board (ECCB)-sponsored Elizabeth Styles 40 overs competition.
Better Hope, who played undefeated throughout the tournament, will be looking to once again lift the prestigious trophy while Buxton will hope to take home advantage to the maximum.
The winner will collect $375 000 and the Elizabeth Styles championship trophy while the runners-up will receive $75 000 and a trophy. Player-of-the-final will also be awarded.
The ECCB is anticipating a large crowd since, in addition to what should be competitive cricket, music and a well-stocked bar will form part of the Beyond-the-Boundary attractions. Admission is free.
All funds raised will be used to assist in the development of the Buxton ‘Carl Hooper’ Cricket Club.

Buxton ‘Carl Hooper’ Sports Club will be represented by Devon Benjamin, Marvin Cato (captain), Anthony McFarlane, Clive Andries, Marlon Thomas, Rawley Fredericks, Rawle Merrell, Quacy Douglas, Treon Hatton, Andre McFarlane, Ryan McKay, Winston Edwards, Oslyn Ferrell and Marvin Cole.
Better Hope Cricket Club team will come from Ravi Singh, Clive Rampersaud (captain), Ray Persaud, Daniel Kowlessar, Bharratt Samaroo, Sachin Singh, Rasheed Rohaman, Rajendra Danraj, Rajendra Singh, Azad Mohamed, Mulchand Singh, Jayadev Manna, Prakash Debidyal, Ryan Pramchan, Sylvan Kowlessar and Anand Persaud.
It is expected that play will start promptly at 11:00hrs. The officiating umpires will be Omadat Samaroo and Gavin D’Aguiar. The match referee is Charles Gibbons.
