THE General Manager of a sound system was on Thursday released on $50,000 bail after he appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ court for discharging a loaded firearm.
Thirty-seven-year-old Safraz Khan of Campbeville appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore and denied the charge which allege that on October 28, 2018, at Main Street, Georgetown, he discharged a loaded firearm in a public place.
The man’s attorney, Glenn Hanoman, told the court that under the section of the law by which his client has been charged, there is a no such charge. As such, he made a bail application.
Police Prosecutor Rorrel Thornhill had no objection to bail but asked that conditions be attached. Bail was granted in the sum of $50,000 by the magistrate on conditions that Khan report to the Brickdam Police Station every Friday. The matter was adjourned to November 28, 2018.
Reports indicate that the man was seen on a Video surveillance footage outside of Palm Court discharging his firearm into the air.
