THIRTY-YEAR-OLD Loretta Hinds of Peters Hall, East Bank Demerara appeared before Magistrate Peter Hugh at the Mahaicony Magistrate’s Court on Monday charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.

She pleaded not guilty and was remanded until November 5.

On Thursday last, about 17:45 hours, the police acting on information received, stopped a Georgetown-bound vehicle being used for public transportation, on the Park Public Road, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara.

Hinds, was subsequently arrested after a search of her bags revealed six taped parcels of compressed cannabis, which weighed in excess of five kilograms.
