THE body of an elderly woman was found on Monday lying in the bushes in the backlands of Cane View Avenue, South Ruimveldt.

At the scene, police said that the body was seen lying in a fetal position on its right side, clad in camouflage. The body was removed by Lyken Funeral Parlour and is at Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) mortuary awaiting identification and a post-mortem.
The body bore scratches and minor abrasions to the back of the head.
