AN intelligence-led operation by ranks of the Guyana Police Force has resulted in the arrest of a carpenter with an unlicensed .22 Smith and Wesson pistol without ammunition around 19:30hrs in East La penitence, Georgetown, on Tuesday.

The police said the suspect was arrested in Freeman Street. He was identified as a 32-year- old who resides in Laing Avenue, West Ruimveldt, Georgetown. Police said investigations are in progress.
